According to the tradition started back in 2007, Sydney’s locals turned off the non-essential lights in their households for one hour to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change. One year later, many other cities around the world adopted this event.
This year, Earth Hour will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 PM on Saturday, March 23rd.
Instead of staying in tonight, you can join the event in downtown Bucharest in Herăstrău Park. Candles will be lit and lanterns will be released over the gorgeous lake. In Izvor Park you can go see an interesting pyrotechnics show.
